What is the difference between a Jet Ski and a Quadrofoil?

Personal watercraft vs. foil technology.

Most of the time people use the term "Jet Ski" in a generic context even though it is a trademarked term and should only refer to the Kawasaki Jet Ski brand of personal watercraft. In relation to hydrofoils and the quadrofoil, there are significant differences, since most watercraft use propulsion engine to shoot water out of the back of the craft in order to gain momentum, whereas a hydrofoil works to lift itself off the surface of the water in order to reduce drag.

Notes and Special Information

Special note: Quadrofoils currently have a limited range and speed compared to personal watercraft such as the Wave Runner or Jet Ski.
